All your comments were not lost! They’ve been moved with the old post to: pikachoose.com/demoOld/

I recommend everyone upgrade to the new version. The CSS has changed a little so be ready to make some changes. Overall I think the new version is leaps ahead of 2.x!

When i set it to auto play.. the captions stop syncing with the images? is there a way to remedy this?

    • admin says:

Are you referring to the delay between the image fading in and the captions fading in? This was intentional, however you can disable it by setting delay_caption:false when calling PikaChoose.

    thanks a lot..

I need auto_play in my environment. tried on Chrome, FF and IE 8 all ok. In IE 7 & 6 it skips an image, the thumb nail runs as normal and so does the caption but the main image jumps one.

I have to say i have been using Pikachoose for a while now - great work

  5. Nick says:

    hey there,

is there any way to incorporate the latest version with the slider? I’m trying to achieve it, but so far, no luck :(

  6. Pepe says:

The issue im experiencing is that the captions rotate faster than the images.. so you see the caption of the second image while your still on the first image. Could it be the image sizes? My images are approx 800kb each. Is there a preloader available? Thanks again for your help. We love your product!

  7. Damon says:

Would it be possible to add a lightbox to either the main image, or in the caption, to link to a thumbnail???

    Great gallery man.

    • admin says:

To get this to work there is a couple things you could do. First you’ll have to modify the uncompressed version of PikaChoose. On line 169 change it to:
      main_img.wrap(”“);

Then make sure each image has a ref=”image.jpg” corresponding to itself. This should cause the image to load in lightbox. If that works out for you let me know and we’ll see if we can get captions to show up too.

      • Damon says:

Hmmm… When I remove the “” from the line, the thumbnails just show the full size, and aren’t created like they should be.

I tried making the caption a link to the lightbox, but that didn’t work either.

There is usually a conflict between 2 jquery scripts Use firefox and download firebug and check the errors then look that error up on google there is a solution. I just lost the page i found it on. you have to resolve the conflict between the two scripts

  9. talesin says:

Hi still stuck on the auto_play just checked in FF 3.5 - that jumps an image too. I just running your demo with auto_play - has any one else seen this?

  10. Leo says:

great upgrade! when i implemented the new version, the main (large) image appears twice, one above the other, everything else runs smoothly. any ideas?
    thank you!

  11. Rashidi Landbrug says:

Very nice man very cool yet simple and effective keep up the good work

    just one question though

how can i center the images in my css? maybe a feature for future updates positing by jquery

    • admin says:

Easiest way is to toss everything inside of a div with a fixed width and give it a margin of 0 auto; That should center it.

  12. Gallery is beautiful and easy to implement but when the image size is diff, specially for images greater than 382px X 416 px it is gives a improper desgin

  13. The gallery looks great! But I have to say the design of this site has me in awe right now! Love the comment backgrounds and these are some of the most fun form fields I’ve ever filled out! Great attention to the details! of course the pikachu is adorable too. Muchas Kudos!

  14. Very nice and simple gallery, jquery is the best javascript library.
    exelent!!!

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks for making this gallery.

    • admin says:

Sorry for the delay on your comment. The css has changed greatly between 2.x and 3.0. I would suggest using the new css file and then re-tweaking it. Hope this helps out!

Does anyone have a STEP by STEP guide to installing this program and making it run? I am having DIFFICULTY setting up this program and making it WORK. Please help me!
    Thanks

    • admin says:

Take a look at the demo. All you need to do is include the pikachoose.js script file, the css file on your page. Then just copy the PikaChoose call from the demo and target your list. If you have a url for the site you’re implementing it on I may be able to assist you further.

  19. tom says:

Nice work! The option for multiple galleries in a single page is great. I am curious, what would be the best way to implement different size galleries in a single page? I’m thinking, set up new variables that can be defined when the script is called? What are your thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Tom

    • admin says:

Most of the variables can be modified when you call the script. I don’t have any built in way to target them separately, but you can do so by wrapping them in a container. Take a look at the documentation, but if you wanted to change the size of the thumbnails for example you could do:

      $(’#div’).pikachoose({thumb_height:30,thumb_width:50});

      Hope that helps out!
